“I’ve always had an acting interest in make-up and clothes. From beaming proudly waiting for my Mom to pick me up from my first day of school with newly ‘cut’ bangs of which I’d done with a blunt pair of kiddie scissors. To sitting in Graphic Design class colouring my hair with poster paints. Collecting odd, chunky buttons and stuffing them on an old piece of string to adorn my neck. Not to mention piercing my own ears with safety pins, and attempting to sew my own clothes during a textiles class; which promptly resulted in me being ‘sent out’ of lesson due to attaching a small group of classmates together.
I’m not saying I’ve been conformist in my approach, but I’ve had heart.
The hours I’ve spent surfing the internet browsing at trends and one-offs, compiling wish-lists of items I’d love to adorn. Adding clothing pages to my bookmarks, mentally trying things on in my head, creating new looks from eclectic pieces. Browsing through carefully thought out displays in malls, souks, stands, markets and stores.
I’m a woman…A woman who enjoys shopping. Visually, theoretically and physically. I also enjoy putting outfits and looks together and experimenting with cosmetics and looks.
That’s why it was just about high time I donned my thinking cap, put my newly polished nail to the keys and begin this blog by saying a big “Hello” and “Thanks for dropping by”.
Along with having worked a stint at Bliss magazine and the BBC, I’ve produced regular reviews and articles for Big City Rednecks Magazine and Beat Your HeART Out Magazine as well as digital manipulations for Twist Unique Clothing (tip of the cap to editors Rose Dennen, Tamzin Forster and Carol Dewison).
Currently an Operations Director in day-to-day life; this blog allows me an outlet for discussing and expressing – not only current trends in fashion and beauty, but interesting and unique finds, that you may find fun, interesting and/or entertaining.
